C2C baby blanket

I made some items for our local county fair and this baby blanket placed 4th.  It was a gift for a friend and she will be having her baby girl in the next few days.  Hopefully she likes it!!!

It was a c2c blanket and I love to colors and how they look together.

Christmas gifts-Snowbound Throw

My Black Friday.... I want one of these for myself!!! I need to figure out what colors I want and get after it, after Christmas. 💙 This one will end up being about 60 inches wide, which is enough to cuddle with. We will see how long it ends up being. I'm going to crochet until I'm happy with the length.

Christmas gifts

One thing I do to relax is crochet. I picked it up a couple years ago because I wanted to have dish scrubbers for my kitchen. I moved on to scarves, beanies, ear warmers, and have recently started making blankets. I love the feeling of a crochet blanket, although I still haven't made one for myself. They all have been given away as gifts. I do have a a few patterns I want for myself, but Christmas is coming up so I'm working on Christmas gifts right now. Right now I'm working on a blanket that I love, the Snowbound Throw. I changed the measurements to make it larger and able to be cuddled in more. I have made this in ivory and buttercream but I'm loving it in Ocean. I used, of course, Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn and it feels like butter as I'm working with it. I look forward to showing you the finished product. 💙

C2C baby blanket

My latest creation! A baby blanket in gray, white, and navy. I loved the edging and the look of the blanket! It measured 32"x42". I used greybeard from Hobby Lobby and the navy and white from Redheart Yarns.

Granny Square Baby Blanket

I have someone who was having a baby and they went with a nautical theme in navy, pink, and white.  I had done a c2c and then a fluffy double crochet and was ready to try something new.  I found this gorgeous patten and decided to try it out.  I like the fact that you can make it larger to make a lap blanket from this pattern. I followed the pattern until it was the size that I wanted and then put the edging on.  I looked up a youtube video to understand how to do the edging and loved it!  Let me know how yours comes out!

C2C blanket - gray and white

I had looked at different blankets and I love all the different ideas and patterns for different blankets. I have showed you the snowbound throw, which I still love (and am making another one of!!!), but now I am showing you another type of blanket.  The nice thing about this blanket is you make it the size that you want it.  You increase until it is the width you want, continue making it longer in length, then once you have reached the length you will begin decreasing to form the last corner.  I love the look of this blanket and the warmth it provides.  This blanket looks very intricate, but is extremely easy to make.  If you can count to 6 occasionally and 3 most of the time, you are good!

There is a wonderful tutorial that can be found here and is made by Mikey at The Crochet Crowd. The fun thing about this pattern is that you can make it personalized to your wants and needs and you can choose how many rows of each color that you want to have.  There are tons of premade patterns if you just search c2c blankets.

Snowbound throw

I am all for giving homemade gifts and love receiving them too! This is my latest gift for a gorgeous couple who is getting married in a couple of weeks!  You can find the pattern here: http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/snowbound-throw

I used Hobby Lobby's I love this yarn in ivory. Although I made this for someone else, I think I'm going to have to make my own soon!
