C2C baby blanket

My latest creation! A baby blanket in gray, white, and navy. I loved the edging and the look of the blanket! It measured 32"x42". I used greybeard from Hobby Lobby and the navy and white from Redheart Yarns.

Chicken Scratch baby style

I love the Chicken Scratch pattern for dish cloths but also thought that I could modify it to make it for a baby shower gift as well.  So, here we go!

Chain 28
Row 1 - SC in 3rd stitch from the hook and SC in each stitch after (26).
Row 2 - Chain 1.  SC in first stitch, skip one stitch. 3 SC in next stitch.  *Skip 2 stitches then 3 SC in the next stitch.*  Repeat until there are 7 clusters of 3 SC. Skip stitch and SC in last stitch.
Repeat row 2 until desired length.  I did 17 rows to get the length that I wanted.
Last row - Chain 1.  SC in each stitch across. Fasten off and break of yarn.

Baby shower items

I have been invited to another baby shower and I always seem to make a blanket of some sort, wash cloths for the baby and then grab bath stuff to go with that.  I may put some diapers in as well.  But since I haven't had kids yet I'm never for sure what they really need.  I know the blanket is something that they can keep forever and can be a neat item to keep, but what else is good? Help me out all you mommies out there!
